Sese Novas, DC (Doctor of Chiropractic)
Dr. Sese Novas was born and raised in Spain and has maintained her fluency in Spanish. Sese was introduced to holistic care by her father who mostly refrained from using pharmaceuticals and instead used home remedies. Her own interest in health care did not surface until later in life. She attended the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and studied political science.
Always an athlete, Sese was able to witness the effects of chiropractic care in her athletic endeavors. Her interest in this field increased after an auto accident that left her with intermittent back pain. That pain was ultimately alleviated by chiropractic treatment.
Exploring her new found interest in health care, Sese first became a massage therapist. She studied at several massage schools in order to develop her own style, which incorporates Swedish and shiatsu methods. Wanting to further help her clients, she enrolled in the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, where first she earned her Bachelor of Science degree, then went on to complete her Doctor of Chiropractic in 1993.
Settling in Long Beach, Dr. Novas has two daughters whom she adjusts regularly. She has also treated many of her patientsą children as the result of their athletic activities. Acknowledging her background in massage therapy, Dr. Novasą treatment sessions always involve work with the affected muscles, in addition to the chiropractic adjustment.
An avid long distance runner, Dr. Novas has completed several marathons and races to the top of Mount Whitney. She has practiced martial arts since 1985 and teaches karate to children.
Dr. Novas is a member of the California Chiropractic Association and Soroptimist International of Long Beach, a volunteer service organization for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls.
