Dr. Sese Novas was born
and raised in Spain and
maintains her fluency in
Spanish. She was introduced
to holistic care by her
father, who refrained from
using pharmaceuticals and
instead opted for home
remedies and nutritional
therapies.
Dr. Novas’ interest in
natural ways of healing
intensified as a result of
her athletic activities.
This led her to become a
certified massage therapist.
She developed an interest in
chiropractic after
experiencing its healing
power following a car
accident, which left her
with intermittent back pain.
She was soon enrolled at the
Los Angeles College of
Chiropractic. She first
earned a Bachelor of Science
degree and then completed
her Doctor of Chiropractic
in 1993. Dr. Novas is a
member of the California
Chiropractic Association.
Her goals are to optimize
her patients’ health by:
improving posture;
resolution of muscle
imbalances; proper alignment
of the spine resulting in
healthy nerve function to
the muscles and organs; pain
relief; as well as treatment
for related symptoms that
compromise health like
headaches, allergies and
digestive difficulties. Dr.
Novas uses a full range of
soft tissue techniques,
capitalizing on her
background as a massage
practitioner.
Dr. Novas is a firm
believer in the team
approach to wellness and
will refer patients to other
practitioners in the Center
if she thinks their
condition would be improved
by the consultation. “My
main goal as a Chiropractor
is to help patients achieve
optimal health without the
use of drugs or surgery,
encouraging them to
capitalize on their own
ability and desire to
improve their health.”
Dedication to physical
exercise has inspired Dr.
Novas to become an avid
runner and a long-time
practitioner of the martial
arts. She has also
incorporated yoga into her
regular regiment and views
it as a perfect complement
to her exercise routines.
She enjoys the amazing
benefits this ancient art
has to offer.
Married with two
beautiful daughters, Dr.
Novas is a very involved
volunteer at their school
and with their Girl Scout
troop. She combines her love
for martial arts and kids by
teaching karate to children.
She has also been involved
with Soroptimist
International of Long Beach,
a volunteer service
organization for business
and professional women who
strive to improve the lives
of women and girls.
